Traffic Signal Installations at Denton Tap Road/Bethel Road,
and Denton Tap Road/Parkway Blvd. Intersections.
Dear Mr. Doyle:
We have reviewed Mr. Steve Goram's January 6, 1989 memorandum
regarding "knockdowns" of traffic signal poles located in the
medians at some of the signalized intersections. All of the
major intersections which have been signalized to date in the
city of Coppell have utilized pole mounted left turn signals
located in the medians. Accordingly we have designed the
abovementioned signal installations with similar layouts to
maintain uniformity with the rest of the City and to avoid
confusion on the part of the motorists.
According to our Traffic Engineer the changes requested by Mr.
Goram are reasonable and can be accommodated by revising our
current design drawings. We are now proceeding with the
revisions to eliminate the signal poles in the medians, and will
forward review sets of the plans to yourself, Mr. Goram, and
other affected department heads prior to advertising for bids.
