RE: Coppeli Crossing, Lot 3, Block 1 (Burger King)
Dear Sir:
The City of Coppell was recently contacted by the owner of the shopping center south of the
Burger King on MaeArthur Blvd. in the City of Coppell concerning high water usage on their
fire meter. The fireline meter is attached to a fireline, which typically has little or no usage on it.
Upon review of this situation it was determined that the domestic and irrigation service to Burger
King is tied into a private fireline running parallel to MacArthur Blvd. adjacent to Burger King.
Because the line that Burger King tapped into is private and is a fireline, the existing tap should
be abandoned and a new tap to a public waterline should be made.
In reviewing waterlines adjacent to this site there appears to be a public waterline adjacent to the
southeast corner of the Burger King site. The removal of the tap to the fireline and the
installation of a tap to a public line should take place as soon as possible. Because Burger King
is tapped into a private line there is no guarantee that water service can be continued from that
line.
You should contact this office upon receipt of this letter to provide a timeline of when the
existing tap to the private fireline will be abandoned and the new tap to a public line will be
made. This information will be provided to the owner of the private waterline to determine if
they are agreeable to the timeline.
Thank you for your consideration of this request and I look forward to hearing firom you in the
very near future.
Sincerely, ~ ,~P. E
