TR0001-CS020501 (2) STOP, LOOK --- AND LISTEN! ~' If you have traveled to CMS North to drop-off or pickup stu- you have probably ex- lenges that happen daily at the intersection of Denton Tap Road and Natches Trace Trail. Some drivers at- tempt to tum left wh~e negotiating oncoming traft'm from both the north and south. Others turn right only to travel a few hundred yards to make a U- turn into heavy southbound traffic. At best, it re- quires great caution with only two stop signs to as- sist in the flow. The greatest concern, our stu- dents are right in the middle of the situation. The city of Coppell budgeted a traffic light at a cost of $150,000 to improve conditions at this intemec- tion. But, it isn't scheduled to happen until the 2003-2004 fiscal year. In addition, complaints about the t~a~ic have minimized, so thought is be- ing given to reallocate the funds elsewhere. The CMS North PTO urges parents to let their con- ceres be known. Please call the city to voice your opinion, write a letter to a Coppell city councilper- son or e-mail the mayor, Candy Sheehan, at sl'~--~ hancandym(~.attbi.com with your requests to im- prove the traffic conditions at the eariiest possible date for all who use the intersection.
