Dear Mr. Boney:
In accordance with NCTCOG Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction Item' 1-
34-1(a), Reasons for Suspension and Item 1.42 Inspection and Tests, you are hereby advised to
suspend construction of underground utilities in the Townhouses of Coppell.
Specifically, to date 644' of the sanitary sewer has been laid, 464' of which has been laid
backwards. Most all of the trench has been backfilled and even though I made it very clear
that compaction tests are to be performed during backfill operations, to my knowledge, no tests
have been done. Late last Friday, Feb. 2, I asked the foreman on the project if any work
would be done Saturday, Feb. 3 and I was told that no work would be done on the project. A
crew worked most of the day Sat. Feb. 3 backfilling the trench on Line 'D.' Additionally, I
have on each visit to the project asked for the trench safety plan or suggested that a trench box
or shoring is needed. So far none of this has happened.
The correspondence will be faxed to you as soon as it is processed and I will consider at that
time that you have been properly notified. Any work done after that time will not be accepted
by the City of Coppell.
Please call me at 972-979-2706 or 972-304-3685 as soon as possible so that these issues may
be resolved.
~r.Sincerely' ~ ~
Construction Inspector
