Dear Mike and Kent:
Attached is a set of our offsite drainage plans for the above referenced project.
We believe that good engineering practice would suggest that we should design a strain
sewer system which collects runoff from our site and from the new school site and
transports that water to a location where it can drain away. Our design reflects this
philosophy.
Our client, on the other hand, does not understand why he should pay to enlarge the stomx
sewer system above the size required to drain his site.
Therefore, we met. today with representatives from the School District. One purpose for
the meeting was to request that the District pay their fair share of the cost of a storm
sewer system that served both sites. They agreed to consider our request.
The purpose of this letter is to seek the City's encouragement and support for our design
concept. Also enclosed is a copy of our cost estimate for these improvements and our
idea of how the costs should be shared.
