Dear Mr. Griffin:
My name is Doug Rice. I am a resident of Coppell at 242 Winding Hollow Lane. My
house backs up to Cottonwood Creek and part of my property has been zoned as a
floodplain.
I am writing to you to request a Flood Plain Permit to install a 10' x 12' wood storage
building in my back yard. I have attached a copy of:
• my property survey, with the proposed storage building location indicated
• the Home Depot brochure of the building I would like to install
• my Building Permit Application
I would like to install this storage building to store yard equipment in. This will help
with allowing me to put both cars in my garage (I can only get one in now). I realize the
flood waters could come up as high as the bottom few inches of my building, but that is
something I am willing to live with. I don't believe water would harm the building or its
contents, nor do I believe that the building would create any issues for any of the
surrounding area. The building will have a pressure treated floor and I will treat it with a
water sealer prior to installation to help in this regard.
