Central Expressway, rtl000 Dallas, Texas 75206 Ruby Road ST 01-02 2nd Submittal Review Comments Dear Mr. Evans: Following a review of the above referenced plans, the following comments are offered for your consideration: General Comments Update the existing utility contacts. The Freeport Parkway construction plans, prepared by Schfickel, Rollins and Associates, showed the intersection of Ruby Road at Station 31+88.16. The Ruby Road construction plans held this station. If the intersection of Ruby Road is moved northward approximately 5 feet, the recently constructed intersection with the dedicated right turn lane can be salvaged. Would consider putting a P.I. in the proposed Ruby Road alignment so that the intersection can be salvaged. See attached drawings. SHEET NO. CI.I 1. NOTES - The word "associated" is misspelled in Note 1. SHEET NO. C1.2 1. The grade between Stations 10+50 and 15+50 should be shown as positive instead of negative. 2. Need to move "PROPOSED RUBY ROAD" at Station 16+00 fight. The words cover up "Caution - Shallow Sanitary Sewer Line". SHEET NO. C1.3 The plans call for the existing manhole at Station 21+35 right to be adjusted. Our inspector has indicated that there needs to be a 3-foot minimum depth from the rim to the flow line of the pipe. There appears to be less than 3 feet from the proposed rim elevation to the flow line. There is approximately 6 inches from the bottom of the proposed pavement to the top of the existing sewer pipe at Station 23+00. We have concerns about protecting the existing pipe in this area. Can the elevation of the road be raised so that the low point is moved back to approximate Station 20+50? Would this affect the proposed drainage at Deer Run and along Ruby Road? We are having an internal inspection of the pipe done so that we can dete, mine the condition of the pipe under the proposed road. 3. The grade between Stations 23+00 and 26+85 should be shown as positive instead of negative. SHEET NO. C2.1 1. Would consider grouting the thick rock rip-rap at pavement Station 11+00. SHEET NO. C2.2 The proposed 8-inch water line at Station 21+15 crosses under the existing 8- inch sewer line. Do the water/sewer lines meet the separation requirements or will the water line need to be protected? 2. 36" RCP - There is an extra decimal shown. SHEET NO. C3.1 1. The proposed 12-inch Line "W-I" is connecting to an existing 12-inch water line. Will an 8"x 12" reducer be required? 2. Change "Remove Plug & Connect to Existing 8" Water" to "Remove Plug & Connect to Existing 12" Water". 3. Does the proposed 48-inch storm sewer pipe need to be supported over the crossing of the proposed 12-inch water line at Station 5+85? SHEET NO. C3.2 1. The grade from Stations 12+84.06 to 20+69.74 needs to be shown as negative instead of positive. Please revise the plan sheets as needed. Enclosed is the review set of plans, which should be returned with the next submittal. Should you have any questions or need any additional information, please contact me at 972-304-7019.
