Subject: Hard Hat Issue
Mark,
I do agree with the importance of wearing a hard hat on the job site. One of the apparent problems is that
the Service Center site has not been marked as to where the hard hat area begins. There is a sign
attached to the job trailer but this sign does not let the visitor know where they need to wear a hat.
Mr. Davis has indicated that he has never told anyone that he refuses to wear a hard hat. He feels that he
has been singled out by the superintendent for not having on a hard hat at times, on certain portions of the
site. This accusation has a severe implication. If the superintendent is attempting to keep Mr. Davis off
the site for some reason, we have a problem. The contract states that representatives of the owner will be
allowed access to the site for construction observation and administration reasons. This access cannot
be denied.
Mr. Bush stated at the most recent update meeting that he would call the police and have Mr. Davis
removed from the site the next time he comes out without a hard hat. The first question the police would
ask is where is the designated hard hat area.
Please have the site properly signed to indicate where exactty the hard hat areas are located.
