We have reviewed your request dated August 6, 1991, concerning a reduction
in the construction inspection fees. Our records indicate that we
received a check from Gibson Associates, Inc. in the amount of
$8,057.80, made payable to the City of Coppell on August 9, 1991. This
payment was for the construction inspection fee and was calculated based
on 2% of the estimated construction cost of $402,890.00. The basis for
the construction inspection fee calculation did not include item No. 10A,
accelerated schedule, in the amount of $59,540.00.
Any adjustments in the construction inspection fees will be considered at
the final inspection of this project. At that time, all construction
costs will be identified, and the fee adjusted as necessary. In
accordance with the subdivision ordinance, all construction activity costs
are included in the inspection fee calculation. Any variation from this
procedure requires City Council approval.
