RE: Coppell Crossing, Lot 3, Block 1 (Burger King)
Dear Sir:
This letter is written as a follow-up to my May 17`h, 2002 letter, which stated that it appears as though the
domestic and irrigation service to Burger King was tied into a private fireline. The letter requested that
representatives of Burger King contact my office to discuss a timeline on when the existing taps to the
private fireline could be abandoned and a new tap made to a public line. To date there has been no
contact from the owner to my office.
Because water in a fireline generally sets for long periods of time and in most cases sets in a line unless a
fire hydrant is opened, it is not safe to have domestic water tapped off of a fireline. The longer water sets
in a water line the greater the possibility of the growth of bacteria in the water. It is imperative that this
dumestic and irrigation line be removed from the private fireline and tapped to a public water line.
If no contact is made with this office with an appropriate timeline, then the City of Coppell will have no
option except to disconnect the service ourselves. Disconnecting the service will in essence force the
Burger King to cease operations until such time as a new tap is made to a public line.
Again, I would ask that you contact this office immediately upon receipt of this letter to provide a
timeline of when the new tap can be made to a public water line. If [ am unavailable, then you can
