ST9904-CS020823T M E C I T Y O F COPPELL x A h t 8 Claude P. Elsom III, P.E. Area Engineer TxDOT 2624 W. Prairie Denton, Texas 76201-5117 RE: S.H. 121 Project (Dallas & Denton Counties) ST 99-04B Dear Mr. Elsom: ~~ A 1Y August 23, 2002 This Ietter is written in response to your letter requesting utility relocation information. The City of Coppell currently has 12-inch waterline on the west side of Denton Tap Road and a 10-inch sanitary sewer line on the west side of Ridgemont Drive across the S.H. 121 right-of--way. The construction plans show that the piers for the overpass over S.H. 121 will be east of our 12-inch water line location. The construction plans also show Line J to cross over the top of our 10-inch sanitary sewer line. Sheet 271 shows that the 10-inch sanitary sewer has a top of pipe elevation of approximately 456.5. The sanitary sewer at that location could potentially be in conflict with the 42-inch RCP; however, I am unsure where the elevation of 456.5 came from. The record drawings that we have for the construction of the sanitary sewer line, designed by Dowdey Anderson and Associates in 1996, (copy included) show a top of pipe elevation of approximately 451. The 10-inch sanitary sewer is a gravity-flow sanitary sewer installed on a minimum grade; therefore, it cannot be relocated if in fact it is in conflict with the 42-inch RCP. Again, based on our record drawings, the line is shown approximately six feet higher than the record drawings. Based on our review of the plans as submitted and our own record drawings, it is our opinion that we do not have a conflict with the construction of S.H. 121. As an additional point of information, we currently have a 12-inch waterline under design that will go along the south side of S.H. 121 from Business 121 to Denton Tap Road. Our goal is to also provide an additional line under S.H. 121 to serve the subdivision north of S.H. 121. Based on the stationing of S.H. 121, the proposed crossing will be at approximately Sta. 2098+00. The 12-inch waterline would not be in conflict with any work associated with the construction of S.H. 121. If you should have any questions or need any additional information please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Sincerely ~~ ~-P-~ Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
