WA0002-CS020826T H E C I T Y O F COPPELL August 26, 2002 Mr. James Davis Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers 8350 N. Central Expressway, #1000 Dallas, Texas 75206 RE: Golden Triangle Mobile Home Park Water Line & Fire Hydrants WA 00 -02 2 °d Review Comments Dear Mr. Davis: Following a review of the above referenced plans, the following comments are offered for your consideration: COVER SHEET 1. The project number is "WA 00 -02 ". SHEET C1.1 1. Can the bore that begins at Station 0 +00 be moved away from the 24 -inch diameter oak tree by installing a bend at Station ± 0 +25? The bore that begins at Station 1 +45.78 needs to be a straight bore with bends installed. 2. The 12 -inch encasement pipe is not required for the bores. 3. Show the beginning and end stations of the bores in the profile view. 4. Need to designate which trees are to remain and which trees are to be removed within the easement. The contractor will not be able to work around all of the trees because of horizontal and vertical conflicts with the equipment. 5. Need to add a note that states that contractor will provide test points and that all testing and test points are subsidiary to the installation of the water line (hydrostatic, bacteriological, chlorination, removal of all test points and apparatus etc.) 255 PARKWAY * P.O.BOX 478 * COPPELL TX 75019 * TEL 972/462 0022 * FAX 972/304 3673 6. The owner of the trailer park was concerned about the distance between the proposed fire hydrant and the existing parking pad. The Fire Marshall said that we need 3 feet of clearance around the fire hydrant, and the fire hydrant needs to be located 3 from the back of curb. The fire hydrant located at Station 2 +81.30 may need to be adjusted. 7. Is the bend at Station 2 +59.12 a 22.5° bend as opposed to a 11.25 bend as shown on the plans? SHEET C1.2 1. Show a detail of the water line under the speed bump. SHEET C1.3 1. Delete Detail No. 1 and Detail No. 2. The contractor is required to purchase a set of the City of Coppell Standard Construction Details, and these two details are within the standard details. 2. Detail No 3 — Show the depth of the flowable fill under the pipe. State that this detail is typical for Line W -2. The 2" hot mix asphalt wearing surface is type "D" and all exposed edges need to be primed. Please revise the plan sheets as needed. Enclosed is the review set of plans, which should be returned with the next submittal. Should you have any questions or need any additional information, please contact me at 972 - 304 -7019.
