Date: OCl.Ober 2, 200 I Jim: A~ per our conversation MOnday, in light of the fact that it may take s~veral years to develop the City's Old ('oppelt (Baptist FOl\ndatiol1) property. ....e would like the City to consider providing an interim gravel or dirt parking lot tn he used for special events and sports practices. The area aloug S. Coppell Road dosest to Bethellbfld is already p0l1ially cleared, with }II\ cntryway; existing trees would complement the concept, As we discussed, the area could benefit from 100 parking spaces, in that appmximately 2,000 persons attended our last Old Town flea Market eVf"l\t. Dozens of cars currently line Coppell Road during sports practices. We a!/,rcc that groups would need to obtain City approval for use of the lot and he responsi ble for crossing safety. In addition, in regard to property leased by the City that lies betw~n Coppell Deli and Coppell Auto, the grassy area is uneven and draills poorly. The tract could be another interim amenity, providing parking for Spo\1s practices, store patrons, and Senior Adult events. as well as span' during Old Coppell events. The Old Town Coppell AsslJcialion (OTCA) ""iil discuss at our meeting Wednesday contrih- uting toward the cost of these IJr(dects, Thank you for your willingness t() help us with our parking problem. \Ve believe the addi fil)l1S will benefit all Coprell citizens, Jean Murph Old Town Coppell Association
