RE: Old Town Coppell Association Membership Application
Dear Jean:
When reviewing the Old Town Coppell Membership Application form, I read No.2 regarding
engineering advice from Teresa in our Engineering Department. Let me fully explain what the city
is willing to do, and the limitations under which we operate.
1. Teresa would be available to visit with business owners in the area regarding their parking
situation and give them some input regarding the limitations or possibilities they have with
regard to parking in and around their property.
2. Teresa is not a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, therefore, she cannot
provide any formal design services since that would be in conflict with the laws of the State
of Texas.
3. The city as a public entity cannot provide design services for private property parking.
4. Finally rest assured we are willing to cooperate, but we are limited with regard to the amount
of work or advice that we can provide regarding parking for private business entities.
If you have any questions regarding this letter or our intent to provide input and direction with
regard to parking in Old Town, please do not hesitate to contact Ken Griffin, City Engineer!
