FIELD DENSITY TESTING
A Giles Engineering Associates, Inc. (Giles) representative was present at the above referenced site to test
compaction of the trench backfill.
Visual observations indicated material consisting of dark brown sandy clay (Soil ID No. 2 ).
Field density tests were performed by nuclear method to assess the in-place density and moisture content of the
material. Test results at random locations indicated compaction of at least 95. I percent of the maximum dry density
as obtained by the standard proctor method at moisture contents of 17.1 percent (report of field compaction tests is
attached).
Based on our observations and testing, the test results performed this date were found to be in general accordance
with the project specifications.
We make no warranty, express or implied, except that our services were performed in accordance with engineering
principles generally accepted at this time and in this location.
