Week 11 - (Jan. 21 - 26) Liming on Freeport Pkwy. adjacent to the steel & cable fence. Installing the storm drain. Estimate #1 was received by Larry Davis on Jan. 22, 2002 - in the late afternoon. After reviewing the estimate it was apparent that the request for payment and the line items had increased over the previously supplied ISI work copy estimate dated Jan. 16, 2002. Larry contacted Phillip Bennet on the morning of Jan. 23, 2002 to make him aware that because of the apparent changes and the pay estimate he would need to discuss with SRA (Chris). After placing a telephone call to Chris, Larry was informed that Chris was out for the day - therefore was not able to meet the time stipulation mentioned to Phillip for the submittal of estimate with signatures to the finance department. It is Larry's intent to have completed the review of Estimate #1 on or before Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002. (all of the above information was discussed with Phillip on Jan. 23, 2002) Page 3 CREEKVIEW DRIVE & FREEPORT PARKWAY ST 0001 Schrickel Rollins & Associates The utility contractor exposed the existing 27 -inch RCP at Freeport and Creekview Drive. He has started laying from the connection point of the existing RCP west on Creekview. It was noticed by Larry Davis that the depth of cut for placement of the proposed RCP will and does require trench safety measures to be taken. He also informed the utility contractor and Billy W. that the proper compaction equipment to handle the width and the depth of trench over the RCP was not on the job site. Larry's request to Billy W. was to please follow proper acceptable construction methods for the placement of the RCP in the trench line. Larry also informed Phillip to get in touch with the utility contractor to request them to use the proper equipment in order to reach the density requirements set forth in the contract and the lift requirements for frequency of testing in the ditch. The contractor lime stabilized the area between the existing east edge of State Road and the offset just west of the east boundary line of State Road and from the beginning of the transition south to the north edge of pavement on Ruby Road on Jan. 22, 2002. On Jan. 23, 2002 - Larry Davis had a discussion with Billy W. about being sure of his lime placement location which would be under all paving and one -foot beyond existing curb. Billy W. Is now veriflying the location of the lime placement. Based on the discussion of Jan. 17, 2002, ISI had proposed to utilize a Type A Flex Base under the portion identified as the hot mix transition area. Billy inadvertently limed this area. Billy W. informed Larry Davis that TXU is still working on a schedule for next week to lower the two existing flinch electrical conduits in Creekview Drive at Freeport. Larry Davis discussed with Billy W., as with previous dates with Dennis, that TXU does have existing underground electrical crossing Freeport, east to west, from the transformers on the west side of Freeport and between the asphalt paving on Ruby Road and the existing concrete paving on Freeport. Billy W. was requested to contact TXU once again for utility locates and to expose the above mentioned service. This will verify whether or not the existing electrical services will conflict with the excavation and paving in this location. Billy W. was requested to contact Brad Reid and inform him prolr to their scheduling of their saw cutting of the internal paving of widening WW park entrance. (existing electrical sensor wire for gate operation). Also discussed with Billy to locate all of the existing irrigation parallel to and inside the roadway of Freeport. Larry also discussed with Billy W. placing the proper barricades in and on the construction site in particular the section of Freeport, Ruby and State. ( i.e. road work ahead, caution and end of construction are not place on the project) WEEK 12 (Jan. 28 - Feb. 1) TXU acknowledeged existing utilities along Ruby Road. The paving contractor set forms and steel on Feb. 19, in the northbound through lane from existing Freeport Parkway across Ruby Road and tying into previously poured section. The yield right turn island is in this area and we are waiting for design direction from SRA. On morning of Feb 18, Larry Davis met with Billy Wisenhunt. Larry Davis discussed once again the possible maintenance issues with the detour and the barricades placed at Freeport/State/Ruby. ISI - Billy Wisenhunt' a daytime and nighttime contact numbers have been forwarded to the Coppell dispatch, in case any issues come up after normal working hours. Creekview Drive - Larry Davis discussed with Billy Wisenhunt, his concern about the inlets. LD requested that the inlet tops not be poured until after the paving section Is complete.
