RE: First Construction Review Comments for Burns Road Reconstruction.
Dear Mr. Wright:
The City of Coppell has received the referenced plans and has the following comments to offer:
1. Show the paving and existing sanitary sewer profile for Burns Street.
2. Show the dimension from the center line of the railroad track to the edge of pavement.
3. Provide rubberized railroad crossings on Burns Street as per the City of Coppell
Subdivision Ordinance.
4. Pour 7" of concrete pavement instead of 6" as per the City of Coppell Subdivision
Ordinance.
5. Provide pavement markings and signage as per the Texas MUTCD on Burns Rd. in order
to identify the railroad crossing.
6. Refer to SD -2 Rail Header Detail of the City of Coppell Standard Construction Details in
regards to construction of the rail header.
7. Show the joints in the proposed concrete pavement on Burns Street.
8. The contractor is responsible for purchasing a set of standard construction details and
keeping a set at the job site, otherwise the project will be shut down by the city
construction inspector.
9. Show the location of existing water /sewer lines, fire hydrants, manholes, valves, etc.
10. Is a permit required to the owner of the railroad track for construction in or around it?
11. Dowels are required at 18" centers at the locations shown on the plans.
There are various other minor comments throughout these plans. Once these comments have been
addressed, the revised set of plans should be resubmitted to the City for review. If you should
have any questions concerning these comments, please feel free to contact me at 393 -1016.
