Sika AER
Alf- entraining admixture for concrete
Technical Data
Description:
Slkamix 104, Slka AER, Is a dark -brown liquid air - entralntng agent,
It Is a concentrated solution of neutralized Vinsol resin.
Meets the following specifications:
ASTM -C - 2(30
Corps 'of Engineers CRD -C -13
SU►eau of Public Roads
eureau of R eclama ti on
Where to use:
Use Slka AER as an admixture to Increase conrete's frost resistance
— pavements —slabs — exposed architecture? concrete. It also

• It Increases workability of harsh mixes.
• It Improves stn•lace appearance of architectural concrete,
When greatest possible structural quality Is required, use
approved norinni- setting water- reducing admixtures, accelerating
water - reducing ndmixiures, and retarding wider- reducing
admixtures.
Packaging:
Stalk, lank car or t ruc k s, 55- gallon drums.
Shelf life:_

air. Ytnu may obtain higher air content by Increasing proportions of
AE11, Air consent of rr►Ix should be checked witli air mater and
arvporlion of Slka AER should be adjusted as needed.
1hal mix proportions for Slka AER:
• mixes with approved admixtures Plasllment or plastocrete —
% it oz /sack of cement
• ptatn mix — Y, fl oz /sack
• lightweight mix -- 1 11 oz/sack
For graphs from 1119 Bur9au of fieciarnallon, see next page.
Measure required quantity per batch manually or with automatic
dispenser. Add Slkn AER to mixing writer or sand, not to cement.
Reduce water content, as well as proportion of sand, by file volume
of entrained air to take full advantage of $Ike AER Arid minimize

Factors afrecling air content Include:
Type and brand of cement; type, gradation, and proportion of sand
and aggregate; time and manner of mixing; consistency and

Description: Plastocrete 181 is a polymer -type admixture. It Is a non - air - entraining,
water - reducing, strength- producing liquid and conforms to ASTM
C -484 Type A (water - reducing admixture), Contains no calcium
chloride. Admixture Is supplied ready for use with all ready -mix and
mass concrete where increased strengths and other advantages
are desired.
Advantages: • Normal -set admix — Plastocrete 191 Is absolutely normal- setting ...
in the full sense of ASTM 0-494. Normal dosage provides concrete
with setting -time requirements of a normal- eetting admixture_
• Rapid strength gain -- It produces substantially higher strengths
at early stages.
• Cement savings -- Up to 706 strength Increase with equal cement
content; or saves YA to 1 sack of cement /cu yd for equal strength,
• Water reduction -- Plastocrete 161 conforms to ASTM 0-494 Type A
water- reducing chemical admixture.
• increases workability — Facilitates placement; low -slump concrete
moves and consolidates easier, finishes better.
• Free of calcium chloride — Chloride -free, may be used with all
types of cement In all concrete.
• Ready - rouse liquid — No pre - mixing with water; may be added
to mix manually or with automated dispensing equipment.
Properties: Plastocrete 161 Is a non - toxic, non - flammable, dark -brown liquid. It
does not entrain air. Where air -entraining is required, add Sika AER,
air - entraining agent, to the mix separately. Do not premix Sika AER
with Plastocrete.
