Re: Probable Project Costs
Belt Line Road East/West
Dear Gary:
We have taken another look at the probable project costs for the
se~ent of Belt Line Road from Denton Tap to MacArthur Boulevard
in its current alignment. The current const~ction costs for the
se~ent from MacArthur to Carrollton were used to update the
estimated project cost. The project length is approximately
12,000 feet of which 6,900 LF (57%) is within the city limits of
Dallas.
The revised estimated probable project cost is $6 million dollars
($3.4 million - Dallas and $2.6 million - Coppell).
We reco~end the City of Coppell lobby Dallas County to fund all
of the City of Dallas portion and one half of the Coppell portion
in the upcoming County Bond Program. This would reduce the
City's obligation to $1.3 million dollars. It is also estimated
that the City could recover, from street assessments,
approximately $400,000 thus leaving the net cost to the City
below $1 million dollars.
