RE: Ruby Road Construction Project- ST 01-02
Dear Dr. Turner:
For some time now the City of Coppell has been discussing the comtmction of Ruby Road with
developers in the area. In reviewing the constmctability of Ruby Road, it was determined that it
would not be feasible to maintain two-way traffic on the roadway during reconstruction.
On October 22, 2002 City Council authorized the construction of Ruby Road in three phases. The
phasing of the construction will still allow access to and from the developments on the north side
i.e., the single-family residence and mobile home park. However, that access will be restricted to
certain directions during various phases of the construction (see enclosed diagram).
On November 12, 2002 City Council approved the award of the construction contract to Tiseo
Paving Company. The construction will begin in December.
If there is bus service to this area it may need to be modified somewhat during eom[faction. Once
you have had an opportunity to review the diagram and see how it will impact bus service to this
area, please contact me so that we can discuss the phasing.
