RE: PROPOSED ASSURED SELF STORAGE, BELT LINE ROAD
Dear Mr. Griffin,
I have had the utility locate people tie down the utilities in Belt Line Road. I have also met on
the site with a member of the City of Coppell Public Works Department and located the existing
8" water line. The field engineer estimated that the line was just beyond the power poles and as
such is approximately S feet off of the Belt Line Road pavement.
Based on my observations and the realization that it is impossible to maintain 10' separation with
only 8 feet to work in, I do not believe it is feasible to install the line to the East. The line to the
East would require the placement of some 1200 feet of sanitary sewer main to a point where it is
possible to cross Belt Line Road and make a tap into the existing TRA main.
I realize that a septic system will not be allowed. I also realize that I only have a limited number
of possible solutions. I am asking for at least preliminary approval of one of the following
alternatives.
I would prefer that we are allowed to install a leak proof tank which would act as a holding
chamber.' The tank would be pumped out monthly or as necessary and there would be no
discharge into the ground.
The second possible alternative would be to install a 2" force main in the R.O.W. of Belt Line
Road. The line would run West to the existing line crossing Belt Line approximately 1500 feet
to the West. This would remove the need to cross Belt Line, the Dart Rail Road, and numerous
pipelines and cables. It would also not require a new point of entry into the TRA main. Since
we only have a single 2 bedroom apartment the quantity of sewage will be minor.
The third option is that we construct the facility without bathrooms or other plumbing facilities.
Since no public restrooms are provided the tenants will not be affected.
I hope that at least one of these options will be allowed and we can proceed with the design of
the facility.
