( "C &B ") will provide professional landscape architectural and engineering services for the City of Coppell ( "the City ") for the Riverchase Pedestrian Linkage. C &B will prepare preliminary design drawings and final construction documents for the City to utilize in publicly bidding the work. C &B scope of work includes professional design services for a program identified by the City to include: elevated boardwalk over a floodplain; and miscellaneous concrete trail connections to existing Riverchase Elementary School walkway's and the existing neighborhood trail at Bradford Street. C &B will also retain the services of MC Surveying to prepare a site survey of the existing conditions for use in design of the new pedestrian linkage. This scope of work has been prepared based upon a site meeting with the City of Coppell Engineering Department on January 8, 2001. II. SCOPE OF SERVICES A. SURVEYING MC Surveying will perform a site survey of the existing site conditions in the area for the proposed pedestrian linkage. The site survey will Include obtaining site topography, existing trees and manmade structures within the limits of a proposed route for the concrete trail and boardwalk linkage. 2. MC Surveying will prepare an existing conditions survey map based upon the field survey information gathered. The base survey file will be produced in a digital format for use in preparing design drawings for the project. 3. MC Surveying will also prepare the legal documentation for two (2) easements required for the project. 020880.801 1 of 1 Corer & Burgess. BASE MAP PREPARA & SITE ANALYSIS C. 1. C &B will obtain rom the City available information for the project area. The City will p ovide C &B information including, but not limited to, the following: sit utilities for above and below ground existing or proposed utilities; eas ents and public rights -of -way; existing roads or parking areas; drain ge information and floodplain limits; and other related information. The City will provide this information in digital format as well as hard copy maps and exhibits. 2. Based upon the existing information provided by the City, as well as the information gathered in the site survey, C &B will prepare an existing conditions base map for use in preparing design drawings and construction documents. 3. C &B team members and City representatives will conduct a site walk through to visually review the existing site conditions and areas for the proposed pedestrian linkage. C &B will confirm with City representatives the proposed program prior to beginning any actual design of the proposed improvements. PRELIMINARY DESIGN C &B will prepare a preliminary layout of the proposed pedestrian linkage based upon the City approved program. The preliminary design will include the location of the new concrete walk connection to the elementary school and existing neighborhood trail, as well as the proposed elevated boardwalk across the foodplain. N o20850.R01 2. Based upon the preliminary design plan, C &B will prepare a preliminary cost estimate for the proposed pedestrian connection. 3. C &B will meet with the City to review the preliminary design plan and cost estimate to confirm overall design and obtain City of Coppell approval before proceeding into the construction document phase of work. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS 1. Based upon approval of preliminary design plan from City, C &B will prepare construction document drawings for the proposed pedestrian linkage at an approximate 50% level of completion. 2. The City will provide to C &B all front end documents, contracts, insurance requirements, general conditions, etc. for use by C &B in preparing the contract documents book. 2 of 2 Corter & Burgess Inc Corse & Burgess Consu ?ants..nc Nixon & L,nid 4- chdeus /Engineors. C &B will submit the 50% construction documents and Table of Contents for the contract documents and specifications to the City for final review comments. The City will provide C &B final comments for all revisions requested to the construction documents. 4. Based upon 50% construction documents, C &B will also prepare a final cost estimate for the proposed pedestrian linkage. 5. Based upon the written comments from the City, C &B will prepare final 100% construction documents including drawings and specifications for the proposed pedestrian linkage. 6. C &B will submit the plans and specifications to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) or private contractor for the required accessibility review. BID PHASE 1. C &B will assist the City in preparing the advertisement for bid. 2. C &B will attend the pre -bid conference with City representatives. 3. C &B will assist the City in preparing addendum(s), if required, during the bid phase. 4. C &B will evaluate the contractor's bids and provide a recommendation to the City for award of contract. CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES C &B can assist with the construction phase services for this project on an as needed basis. Reimbursable expenses will be paid for at cost times a 1.0 multiplier. IV. ASSUMPTIONS A. This scope of work is based upon the program identified by the City at a meeting on January 8, 2001. The City has not designated a construction budget for the pedestrian linkage at this time. Should the scope of work increase, or the City request alternate bid items be included in the construction document package, C &B and the City will revise this scope of services for additional compensation for the increased design services. B. MC Surveying will perform site survey work to obtain existing conditions such as topography, trees, and above ground structures. This scope of work does not include investigating or mapping existing site utilities whether above or below ground. The City will provide all information necessary for easement documentation and legal descriptions. C. The City of Coppell will provide to C &B all above and below ground utility information for existing and proposed conditions. The City will also provide all drawings for the proposed development of Star Leaf Road. D. This scope of work does not include any hydraulic or hydrology engineering design services such as Corps of Engineers 404 permit preparation, FEMA Map revision, or TNRCC permitting. City to provide 100 year floodplain surface elevation information in reference to the proposed pedestrian boardwalk prior to start of design. This information will be based upon existing water surface elevations as determined by City and citywide drainage information. F. No environmental engineering services will be provided within this scope of work for such items as a cultural resource survey, EA, or EIS. G. No Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) will be provided within this scope of services. H. This scope of work includes one (1) Public Meeting, but no presentations or illustrative graphic presentation exhibits will be provided within this scope of services. I. No construction phase services will be provided within this scope of services.
