Dear Mr. Bookout:
The Engineering Department has reviewed your application for a Floodplain
Development Permit for an accessory building on your property within the floodplain.
We are unable to ascertain the ground elevation in the location of the proposed building
with respect to the floodplain elevation. The City of Coppell does not allow any
structures, fences, etc. to be located at or below the floodplain elevation. We will re-
evaluate your permit application if you are able to provide us with information indicating
that the accessory building will be built above the adjacent floodplain elevation.
I will hold your permit application until you are able to provide me with the needed

The FLOODPLAIN ADMINISTRATOR has reviewed plans and specifications of the proposed development for
conformance with the development standazds required by COPPELL Floodplain Ordinance #94639. You aze hereby
authorized to proceed with the following described work:
O Compliance with the development standards of Coppell Floodplain Ordinance #94639 including but not limited to:
• For residential structures, the lowest floor (including basement) must be elevated to two (2) feet above the 100-
year base flood elevation or one (1) foot above ultimate condition whichever is higher. Certification of the
lowest floor must be submitted from a registered professional engineer, azchitect, or land surveyor.
• For non-residential structures, the lowest floor (including basement) must be elevated or floodproofed to two
(2) feet above the 100-yeaz base flood elevation or one (1) foot above ultimate condition whichever is higher.
Certification that the floodproofmg methods aze adequate to withstand the flood depths, pressure, velocities,
impact and uplift forces and other factors associated with the base flood must be submitted from a registered
professional engineer or architect.
• For fill activities, the permittee must submit certification from a registered professional engineer or land
surveyor that the level of the compacted fill materials is at or above the elevation of the Base Flood.
() Certified copy of all final plans or As-Built Drawings must be submitted to the FLOODPLAIN
ADMINISTRATOR.
