ST0001-CS020306 (2)From: To: Date: Subject: Suzan, "Schnitger, Chris" <cschnitger@sradesign.com> 'Suzan Taylor' <staylor@ci.coppell.tx. us> Wed, Mar 6, 2002 3:37 PM RE: Chris: I just spoke with Philip at ISl. Here are the issues that we discussed: 1. At our meeting on Thursday with Ken we discussed the fence issue. ISI submitted a cost of $22,000 on 2-15-02 to remove the fence and the remaining trees. Ken asked them to review their costs and submit a new estimate. Philip said he faxed copies of the new estimate this morning. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. It is SRA's recommendation that the 4:1 slope begin at the back of curb. We are currently marking up plans to see what effect this will have on the existing fence. 2. Philip said that he spoke with Jim Phillips at TXU this morning and as far as he knows they have all the information that they need to install the street light conduit. All conduit in the medians and the parkways will be installed 18" below top of sub grade. This should provide enough clearance for any future drive approaches. 3. Larry was also concerned with the existing power pole at the west end of the job that is clearly located within the future radius. Jim Phillips met with ISI on site today to discuss the relocation of this pole. As of now ISI does not know if this will result in a loss of power in this area. 4. Larry was also concerned about the existing landscaping and irrigation on the west end of the project. Philip has assured me that they have contacted the businesses in this area and made them aware of the construction in the area. ISI is also aware that they are going to have to relocate some of the existing landscaping and repair some of the existing irrigation in the area. 5. Our surveyor went out to Creekview today to survey the "humped" areas near the soccer fields to verify that our revised sidewalk design will work. Brad Reid in the Parks Dept. has already reviewed the plan and OK'd it. Once we verify the elevations we will finish up the sidewalk plans and get them to the City ASAP. 6. Philip also said that he had the top of the gabions surveyed to check their elevation against the top of curb elevation. Larry was concerned that the elevation of the gabions might be significantly higher than the top of curb. Philip indicated that there was one area that showed the gabions to be 9" higher than the proposed top of curb. Chris Chris Schnitger, P.E. He is requesting information on the disposition of the exisiting fence located the south property line of Creekview. He has indicated that he has sufficient manpower and equipment on site to clear the fence and complete the excavation and 4:1 slope as indicated on the construction plans. If you have any additional information on the removal of the fence and the proposed 4:1 slope easement since our meeting on Thursday, Feb. 28, please advise. ISI needs to do a better job of obtaining this information from TXU. I've given them all the names and numbers of the people they need to contact at TXU. Chris Schnitger, P.E. You missed all the fireworks on Thursday! We discussed the electrical conduit issue at our site visit last week. Apparently the inspector for TXU doesn't know what specs to use either. I think we agreed on site that we would abide by the electrical code and go with it. Billy, the superintendent, seemed to think that all the electrical questions had been answered. Do you know if there were any specifications in the plans for the other portion of Freeport Parkway that might address the street lighting? Chris Chris Schnitger, P.E. I was out sick several days last week myself. Did you ever the design information from Jim Phillips for the conduit. The sub for ISI still does not have anything. >>> "Schnitger, Chris" <cschnitger@sradesign.com> 03/06/02 08:16AM >>> Suzan, I just wanted to give you and update on the sidewalk issue. I had told Larry that I would have something for him on Monday. The Landscape Architect in our office that is working on the Tennis Center at Wagon Wheel Park met with Brad Reid in Parks on Monday to go over some conceptual drawings that he put together on the sidewalk. I've been out sick the last two days I need to see what the outcome of that meeting was. Once I find out what Brad said I will let you know when I expect to have some plans put together.
