RE: Proposed median cuts for Sandy Lake Road widening
affecting Town Oaks Shopping Center
Dear Mr. Griffin:
I am following up with you regarding the conversation I had with your E.I.T., Michael
Martin concerning the above referenced.
This letter is written to object to the proposed median cuts for Sandy Lake Road near
Denton Tap Road affecting Town Oaks Shopping Center to occur with the widening of
Sandy Lake Road. The proposed median cuts do not line up with the shopping center
entrance which is also a fire lane. These openings were initially discussed with the
development of Town Oaks Centre and set with input and the consent of Coppelrs
staff. It is our belief that to now block the median, as proposed, would impair the
safety of the tenants and customers. We question why, at this late date,
consideration is being given to altering the fire lanes designed to provide unimpeded
access to the Center in the event of fire or other emergency.
I would appreciate a response to the concerns mentioned above by mail, telephone or
fax (214) 991-7500. Please also advise us of the next public hearing. Thank you.
Very truly yours,
Glen A. Hinckley, Vice President
