Dear Mr. Griffin:
We were recently contacted by Mr. Mike Martin of your office to provide a cost for engineering
services to design hike and bike trail connections to the proposed crossings under the proposed
Denton Creek bridge crossing. The connections will include the northeast and southeast
quadrants of the bridge. We anticipate the scope of services to be as outlined below:
1. Provide additional in-field topographic surveys and tree ties at the northeast and southeast
quadrants of the bridge and compile surveys into construction plan base sheets.
2. Prepare conceptual horizontal alignment and grading plan indicating trail alignments, one foot
interval contours and retaining walls.
3. Meet with City Staff and Trail Consultant to evaluate and establish horizontal and vertical
alignment concept.
4. Prepare construction plan layout and grading plan based on approved concept plan.
5. Prepare trail cross section, retaining wall sections and details.
6. Amend construction plans adding proposed trail plans and quantities.
7. Amend contract document proposal adding trail construction quantities.
8. Prepare easement document for northeast quadrant.
We anticipate the design fee for the services above to be $10,200, which will include mylar plan
sheets and digital files. The construction plans are currently being finalized for anticipated
submittal to the City on March 13, 1998. The additional hike and bike trail plans cannot be
completed to accompany the March 13th plan submittal. If the work is authorized immediately
and the concept plans can be approved expeditiously, we anticipate the trails can be added to the
project bid documents by an Addendum.

This letter proposal can become an amendment to the existing Engineering Services Contract
(signed by the Mayor on January 16, 1995) upon signature of the approval blank provided below.
