I have attached an Early Grading Permit application for you or your contractor to submit for approval
upon City Council Approval.
The City requires 2 sets of plans for its use. You should submit as many additional sets for signatures as
you and/or the contractor will need. The cover sheet of the plan set must clearly be labeled "For
Grading Purposes Only ". Also included should be the plat, the grading plan, and the erosion control
sheet. In addition, a 2% engineering inspection fee must be paid for the grading portion of the work.
We also require a `hold harmless' letter from the property owner for all early grading permits. The
body of the letter should read something similar to, "We are aware that we are starting the dirtwork on
without a permit from the City of Coppell. We agree to hold harmless the City of
Coppell if there are any changes to the final drawing."
If necessary, a Tree Removal Permit must be obtained prior to beginning the work.
