Mr. Witt and I have discussed the issue of the extremely "vegetated" area in front of the vacant shopping
center (Sandy Lake & MacArthur) which is continuously mentioned by Mr. Jack Smith, the maintenance
rep. and Mr. Walker, the owner. Mr. Walker continues to express that he would share the cost of
clearing/cleaning that area out. So, we will attempt to work with Mr. Walker on this issue and see if we
can make any progress with him.
If you could obtain an estimate on clearing out the area, the City could consider its participation and
provide this estimate to Mr. Walker. I don't know if you would recommend totally clearing the entire area?
I don't think there are any trees that we wish to preserve and from a maintenance side of things, I would
assume we probably want to totally clear out the area while we're there to prevent a constant maintenance
issue like we have now.
There is no rush on this and I am going to tell Mr. Walker that we are exploring the possibility, but not to
expect to hear anything from me until the first of the year.
