Recently there was a field meeting to determine any modifications to the trail
alignment and drainage. It was determined, in the field, that 4 would be possible
to change the grading and drainage as shown on Sheet L-3 to a more cost
effective solution. The new drainage solution carries the swale through the trail by
using a low water crossing. The plans show the existing swale being diverted z
north of the trail which causes larger cuts into the existing slope south east of the
ball field. The new solution will also avoid disturbing most of the existing irrigation
in that area.
It is our opinion that the drainage from the existing Swale at the baseball field will m
be minor, and that a low water crossing will be acceptable. I am including a detail
of the low water crossing with this memo. The low water crossing location and the
modified grading will be adjusted in the field under the direction of the city
inspector. The maximum cross slope on the trail should be 2% with the maximum
longitudinal slope at 5 %. Any error in these slopes will have to be corrected.
R was also determined that a small Swale should run on either side of the trail from
which the grades would transition at a 4-1 slope. These areas of grading will have
to be approved in the field by the inspector. There may be some instaroes where
a 3:1 slope is acceptable.
