Suzan,
In order to facilitate getting this scope and fee done and getting the
project started, I'm going to include an H/H study of the crossing in the
conceptual design phase. The scope will say that after the study is
complete, if we need to replace the bridge, we will negotiate additional
services to cover it. It is just too hard to write a good scope and
estimate a fee without knowing what improvements need to be made to the
bridge. Do you think Ken will be okay with that approach?

I talked to Ken about the bridge and he thinks that the bridge may be
too Iow for the flood plain elevation and will need to be replaced. He
recalls looking at a set of plans and seeing that the elevation was too
Iow. He thinks it might have been the Grapevine Creek Trunk Main II or
maybe we do have a set of the bridge plans. I will look again on
Monday.
