Subject: Bethel Road I
We have moved the construction start date of Bethel Road to April 2004. We are changing the lane width
from 27' to 25'. This will leave 9' from the back-of-curb to the proposed Qwest trench location in most
areas. We have not acquired the right-of-way for the Coppell Industrial Addition, Lot 1, Block A, and for
the small tract of land between Royal Lane and Coppell Industrial Addition, Lot 1, Block A. Your plans
show the proposed trench in right-of -way that we have not acquired. The trench can be relocated under
the pavement in this area if you do not want to wait until the City has acquired the right-of-way. The City is
not going to allow Qwest and Touch America to relocate in separate trenches. Touch America had initially
requested to remain under the pavement and lower the existing trench in areas where there was a conflict.
Have you had any contact with Touch America? I will contact them to see what they are planning on doing.
Craig Bond with TranSystems will need a copy of your relocation plans in electronic format. We want to
look at all of the proposed utility relocations before they relocate to determine if there are any conflicts.
