From: Ken Griffin To: Jim Witt Date: 2/17/03 9:33AM Subject: Duke-Freeport / Ruby Road / Sidewalk Jim In case Jeff Turner calls concerning their Container Store Development, we are requiring a sidewalk along Ruby Road. The Subdivision Ordinance requires sidewalks but we routinely waive that requirement in Industrial areas that have no base to generate sidewalk usage, ie., there is no point of origin or destination to generate foot traffic. However, along Ruby Road you have residential development to the east and Wagon Wheel Park to the west. It's highly likely that there will be foot traffic to access the park. Therefore, during plan review we required the sidewalk. Jeff Langston with Duke has already called and tried to get us to delete the requirement. I told Jeff that the sidewalk was required and he said that it was a large cost that they did not anticipate. Again, this is sent as FYI in the event that you get contacted concerning this. ken g
