Bethel Road - Revised Additional Fee Request
Ken,
I got together with Raul Pena and Joe Masterson regarding the 3
additional box culverts. Based on their recollection and a review of the
original fee proposal, I do not believe the additional box culverts were
part of the original project.
As you know, the 60% submittal showed storm drain for the improved
roadway and what drained onto the roadway, but no modifications to the
existing channel or box culvert on the south side of Bethel. I do not
believe the discussions of additional box culverts came up until the
drainage report was being finalized. This thought was further reinforced
by a statement I read in the original fee proposal which stated "This
fee does not include modifications or re-construction of the existing
drainage channel south of Bethel Road and in front of the Post Office".
However, I have reduced the number of hours for this task so that the
additional fee request is under $25,000. The revised request is attached
for your review. Please let me know if this is acceptable, or if you
have any questions/comments. We are anxious to move forward and complete
this project. Thanks.

Attached IS an additIOnal fee request for additional work associated with revisions to the Bethel Road
Project. Revisions to the existing plan set include modifying the roadway width from 27 ft to 25 ft, and
the addition of three 5 ft x 10 ft Box Culverts between the east side of the USPS property and Freeport
Parkway. Additional work includes channel improvements between Freeport Parkway and Cappel! Road,
including box culverts under Bethel Road. We appreciate the opportunity to present this proposal for
