SUBJECT: TREES IN FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCESS EASEMENT

I have reviewed the facsimile from you dated March 10, 2003 at 11:41 a.m. The plan as submitted is not
acceptable to the Coppell Fire Department.
The purpose of the Fire Department access easement is to provide emergency personnel a free, unimpeded
path around the building as well as providing an area where fire streams can be directed to any structure
that may be on fire. The placement of trees or any other object between the path the emergency personnel
must take and the structure itself is not acceptable and does not meet the requirements of the Department.
