Re: Bethel Road Estates Construction Plans
J99002
Dear Teresa:
Please find attached two (2) sets of revised construction plans and your previous review markups
for the referenced project. These documents are submitted for your review.
The owner has elected to not pursue the reclamation of any floodplain by map revision.
However, there are areas of fill to be placed on the project by way of map amendment The
general notes shown on the Site Plan have been revised to account for this change in direction.
The required Elevation Certificates are presently being submitted to FEMA for their review.
Additionally. it is the Owner's desire to stabilize the area between the proposed home oflot 2
and the edge of the existing creek with solid sod and landscaping material. A shallow retaining
wall will not provide effective erosion control of the creek bank. This particular creek bank
consists of partially exposed limestone rock. Construction of a shallow retaining wall in this area
will. in our opinion, promote more bank failure and erosion, than simply leaving the bank in its
natural undisturbed state. If the City remains concerned about this erosion potential. then a full
depth structural wall should be investigated with its footing positioned at the bottom of the
creek. I would be happy to look at this situation with you in the field if you so desire.
Please contact us with any questions or comments you may have.
Sincerely,
