Sherrill L2B-CS030326I'^C - lJl: ENGINEERING 3 DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, INC. March 26, 2003 PI No. 1093 -02 -019 Ms. Teresa Turner, E.I.T. CITY OF COPPELL 255 Parkway Blvd. 2 Floor Coppell, Texas 75019 Re: Angier Professional Building Belt Line Road Coppell, Texas Dear Ms. Turner: Pursuant to a request from the contractor on the aforementioned site to modify the pavement specifications pertaining to the sub grade, we offer the following comments. The original design called for the sub grade to be lime stabilized. Per further review and comments from the Geotechnical Engineer of Record (Parkland Engineering & Testing, Inc. — Mr. Peter Yu, M.S., P.E.) we are recommending an option to revise our previous details and specification to eliminate the requirement of the lime stabilization. The new requirements shall be as follows. The lime can be eliminated by the increase of the pavement thickness to ALL areas of pavement (fire lane, drive aisle and parking) to a minimum thickness of seven inches (7 ") with a minimum strength of 3,000 PSI at 28 days. The original sub grade preparation methods /guidelines shall be in compliance with the original Geotechnical Report dated January 22, 2003. The reinforcement shall be as originally specified on the plans. If you have any questions regarding the above items, or need any additional information, please call me at your convenience. We appreciate this opportunity to work with you. Sincerely, Randall P. Pogue, P.E.
