RE: Sandy Lake Road MacArthur Blvd. to Denton Tap Road ST 93-02
Dear Sir:
The City of Coppell reviewed the eighteen Request for Qualifications on Tuesday, April 27,
1993. I am pleased to inform you that your firm has been selected as one of the four finalist
for the design of the Sandy Lake Road Project from MacArthur Blvd. to Denton Tap Road along
with the design of a 24" water transmission line.
The City of Coppell will be conducting panel style personal interviews with the four ~nalist.
The panel will be comprised of Steve Goram, Director of Public Works, Gary Sieb, Director
of Planning, Mike Martin, Graduate Engineer, Jim Ragsdale, Purchasing Agent and myself.
Based on our conversation, your firm has selected the time slot of ., May 7, 1993,
The basic schedule for the meeting will be approximately a thirty minute presentation by your
firm discussing the project and more importantly discussing the qualifications of why your firm
should be selected as the design consultant for this project. We ask that you bring the staff who
will be directly working on this project. The City of Coppell is attempting to determine the right
match for this design contract. An important factor in that match will be the ability of the
people working on the project for the consultant to work with the City of Coppell staff. The
remainder of the meeting will be a question and answer type of format. Specifically, the City
will be evaluating the firm based on the criteria as listed in the scope of services:
1. Understanding of project.
2. Ability to complete the project in a timely manner.
3. Qualifications of personnel assigned to the project.
4. The type of services proposed.
5. The firms prior experience with projects of this type.
6. The City's past experience with this firm.
The entire presentation and question and answer period will not exceed one and one-half hours
in length.
The Panel is scheduling all four presentations on May 7th. The Panel anticipates making a
decision sometime in the middle of May. Contract negotiations with the most qualified firm will
begin at that point.
We appreciate your interest in this project and look forward to meeting you and your staff on
May 7th, 1993. If you should have any questions before that time please feel free to contact me
at your convem'ence.
Sincerely,
CC: Frank Trando, Acting City Manager
