Re: Request to plant new Trees along Sandy Lake Road - Phased n Approach.
Mr Aguirre
During our conversation, I mentioned that I would provide phone numbers for contacts at TXU
Transmission that you could talk to about planting trees in the TXU transmission easement. TXU seems
to be in a constant state of reorganization, however, the last contacts I have are as follows: Bryan Williams
- (817-215-6285); Bobby Thomas - (817-215-6290); & Justin Johnson - (817-215-6161). They also have a
right of way department that may be helpful. The person that I have always dealt with is no longer there
as of today. The new contact in right of way is David Reeves - (214-875-3072). The city also has an TXU
representative to help us with issues. Not sure if she can help with transmission issues. That contact is
:Jeanne Hooker - (972- 888-1302). (As an aside... I guess you can tell by the area codes that these
people are spread all over the Metroplex - they kept us on our toes trying to kept up with who we should
contact.) Good luck.
Also, as I mentioned, I will discuss with the Managers and Finance Departments the prospect of planting
trees now so that they will have some growth prior to the removal of the existing trees.

Dear Mr. Griffin,
I enjoyed talking with you this afternoon regarding the removal of Trees
along Sandy Lake Road. I would like to propose a Phased in approach to
reduce the affect of the removal of trees.
I propose that new line of comparable trees be planted now in order to
take advantage of the growth that would have taken place by the time you
do remove the existing trees along Sandy Lake Road in 2006.
A line of trees placed every 20 feet apart to create a canopy of
branches to provide shade for the Sidewalk Path that will go underneath.
That way it would not look as barren as it would by just removing the
trees all together as is planned now. The planting of a New line of
trees will we reduce the negative impact to the community. Coppell is
Tree City, USA and there will be a major loss to Coppell when those
trees are gone.
Please let me know what the next steps are to get this accomplished.
Best wishes,
Jorge Aguirre
