F COPPELL A 6 ` 1� Re: Abandonment Request for a portion of Deforest Road Villages of Coppell Phase IIIB Lots 30 thru 35, Block A/ 920 thru 944 Brentwood Drive Dear Mr. Campbell: On March 11, 2003, the City of Coppell sent abandonment request letters to three divisions of Oncor (TXU), Comcast Cable, and Verizon requesting their input on the abandonment of approximately 10 feet of Deforest Road. I have yet to hear from Comcast Cable, however, Oncor has indicated that they have a 3 -phase underground circuit and do not support the abandonment of the easement. Also, Verizon has indicated that they have facilities in the back of the lots within this easement. While they offer no opinion on the abandonment, they indicated that if it were abandoned, the cost to relocate their facilities would need to be borne by the adjacent property owners. With this letter, I am providing you a copy of the exhibit we provided to the utility companies. At this point, I am still unsure as to whether or not the utility companies are accurate in their assessment of having facilities in the area of which we discussed abandoning. Along with this exhibit, I am providing you a copy of the contact representatives for Oncor, Comcast, and Verizon. It is conceivable that if you have them locate their facilities in the field that they might find that they do not have facilities in the area in which we are discussing abandoning. Until such time as you have provided information to the City on whether or not Oncor and Verizon really have facilities in the area you are requesting to be abandoned, the City of Coppell cannot support the abandonment. At this point, this matter is considered closed unless additional information is received from Oncor, Comcast and Verizon concerning their facilities. ONCOR has a 3 Phase 25,000 volt Underground Cable that runs East - West along the North property line of this development. Im not sure if the Underground cable is North or South of the North property Line. The customer would have to get this cable located so that we can determine if this easement is needed. Also we need access to this Underground cable in case there is ever a Fault?
