RE: Bethel School Road at Denton Tap Project # ST02-02
Dear Ms. Thomas:
These plans are being submitted for an initial review to determine compliance with the
provisions of the Texas Accessibility Act. In essence, the project is a reconstruct of an existing
street with the inclusion of an additional lane near the intersection of Denton Tap Road to
provide for a left-turn lane. The limits of the project include from curb to curb, however on two
side streets, Hidden Valley and Oakbrook, we will be reconstructing small portions of the street
back to the limits of the curb return. This section of Bethel School Road is not ADA accessible
at this time. Adjacent to the Post Office there is a portion of the sidewalk that stops, and on the
north and south sides at the driveway and street there are no accessible ramps. The estimated
cost of the project is approximately $350,000.
This request tbr review is submitted prior to construction to ensure that it will not be my
responsibility during the reconstruction to install ADA accessible ramps at all intersections and
driveways or to construct sidewalks along the entire section of the project to bring it into
compliance with ADA requirements. Also, I am unsure if the current configuration at Heartz
and Bethel School is ADA compliant; however, we are stopping our project short of that
intersection.

provide an invoice for this review we will process the paperwork for a check to be mailed to you.
