Dear Mr. Williams:
Construction of irnprovements to Bethel Road, from the west City limits to Freeport
Parkway, is scheduled to start in April 2004. The construction time is anticipated to be
18 to 24 months. The improvements consist of the reconstruction of the 2-lane asphalt
roadway to a 4-lane divided roadway with drainage and channel improvements. Many of
the existing utilities (fiber optic, electric, gas telephone, etc.) within the right-of-way
conflict with the proposed improvements and will need to be relocated. The utility
companies have started their relocations, and the relocations will continue until the
construction start of Bethel Road.
