WA9901-CS030620T H E C I T Y O F COPPELL r _ o June 20, 2003 F x A 6 t 8 4 (Letters sent to 84 residents) see attached list RE: Meadowcreek / Rolling Hills 8 -inch Water Line Project WA 99 -01 Dear Coppell Resident: On Tuesday, June 17, 2003, the City of Coppell hosted a public meeting concerning the upcoming reconstruction of the Meadowcreek / Rolling Hills 8 -inch water line. I appreciate the attendance and the input of the residents who attended as several issues were brought up by the citizens of which the City had failed to consider. One issue was the proposed locations of three new fire hydrants. To bring this section of Meadowcreek into compliance with current fire codes, the water line is being upsized to an 8" water line with three additional fire hydrants being installed along the length of the project. In one instance, the proposed location of the fire hydrant was detrimental to the property owner's use of the property; so therefore, that fire hydrant has been adjusted to a common property line. The second issue discussed was parking of vehicles for construction workers. The contractor attended the public meeting and heard the concerns of the citizens and will be working to resolve any associated parking issues prior to construction. At this time, the contractor has not provided us with a timetable of when work will begin. However, we are currently in the process of scheduling the preconstruction meeting with the contractor. Once that meeting has been held, then the contractor will have 10 -days from the date of that meeting to begin work. It is anticipated that construction will begin sometime within the next two to four weeks. The contractor has offered to place a notice at each home approximately one week prior to the beginning of construction. One of the most important items covered during the public meeting was the list of contacts for the project. With this letter I am including a copy of that list. The list includes both Contractor and City contacts. As a point of reference, the initial contact on a construction related problem through the City will be Garreth Campbell, Project Inspector.
