Dear Mr. Griffin:
Jacobs is pleased to present you with our proposed fee estimate and scope of work description
for additional design work on Sandy Lake Rd.
As requested, we have shown the design fee in two parts. The first part includes just the
miscellaneous design changes. The second part includes the work to lower the profile of the
roadway to meet ONCOR's elevation requirements. Also, a separate item is shown for the
administrative time that will need to be added to whichever design option(s) is/are agreed
upon.
This fee estimate is based on our recent discussions and evaluation of the detailed scope of
work. Our fees will be billed out to the City as time & material not to exceed the total values
shown on the "Fee Estimate for Sandy Lake Rd Revisions".
Could you please forward a copy of the City of Coppell's standard contract agreement to our
office? I will make sure our legal department is reviewing it while we finalize the Scope of
Work.

DESIGN SCOPE OF WORK
Sidewalk
· The sidewalk will be shown on the south side of the project.
· The grading (cross sections) will have to be revised at the right turn lane onto
Riverchase, there isn't enough flat grade there for the sidewalk.
Drainage at Riverchase
· The drainage area map and hydraulic computations will not be revised.
· The cross sections will not be revised.
· The existing drainage pipe to the south as well as a newly constructed pipe from the
east will be tied into the Sandy Lake Rd system.
Stomi line - vs - Utility Encasement
Pot Holes for Utilities
· These issues will be handled as added bid items on the quantity list.
· There will be a quantity and cost that is available for payment as deemed necessary
by the inspector & contractor.
· A description will be included in the specifications so that the work included in each
bid item is clarified.
Sprinkler Conduit/Pipes
· Jacobs will coordinate with the parks department to determine size required for the
conduit.
· Jacobs will not show the irrigation design, just the basic piping in the median.
HC Ramps
· Jacobs will include the City of Dallas Detail 25 ID in the plan set, which meets the
newest ADA standards.
· The crosswalks and median noses will be modified to meet the new ramp locations.
Lower the Profile of Sandy Lake Rd.
· After coordinating with Jon Scarborough on behalf of ONCOR, Jacobs will lower
part of the profile of Sandy Lake Rd. to accommodate the necessary clearance under
the transmission lines.
· The drainage area map and hydraulic computations will not be revised.
· The drainage structures will be relocated to the new low points in the roadway.
