1. Fire Hydrant: Move proposed fire hydrant at Station 25 +25 to approximate Station 25 +00.
2. Fire Hydrant: Move proposed fire hydrant at Station 38 +30 to approximate Station 40 +00.
3. Bore pits for services are approximately 1 -foot wide by 3 -foot deep.
4. Minimum of one lane open at all times — contractor will use flagmen.
5. Best for residents to video yard or take pictures prior to construction. May need to turn on
irrigation system for contractor so that sprinkler heads can be located.
6. The water line trench is anticipated to be 2 -foot wide.
7. There will be a controlled shutdown of the water line and residents will be given notice. The
notice will be placed on the front door. Residents need to make sure they check their front
doors for notices.
Resident Questions & Comments
1. How will the trench be filled? The trench will be backfilled as it is constructed. Trenches
will not be left open overnight.
2. What is the start date for construction? The estimated start date is 2 to 4 weeks from today.
The contractor will give 1 weeks notice to the residents prior to starting construction.
3. What if there is subsidence after the trench is backfilled and sodded? The trench must meet
the density requirements in the specifications. There will be testing done on the trench to
ensure that it meets density requirements. Contractor is required to have a two -year
maintenance bond for the project.
4. What happened on the sewer line trench in Bethel Road — what were the density
requirements? Trench met the density requirements as it was being constructed. The trench
failed density tests taken at a later date — the compaction was around 60 to 65 %. The City
now enters into an agreement for the materials testing on projects. Contractor is no longer
responsible for materials testing.
5. Will the street become a parking lot for the contractor's crew — the only place to park is along
the roadway? Three to six cars will have to park in proximity to the construction. Contractor
and City will look into the parking and try to alleviate any possible traffic congestion.
6. 301 Meadowcreek — there is an irrigation system close to the road — if cars park on the
system it could be damaged.
7. Will the contractor mark the proposed alignment of the water line? No.
8. Will the contractor bore under the side streets? Yes
9. 156 Meadowcreek — there is a sewer line located in an easement near the north side of the
street. The water line was moved to the south of the street to meet minimum separation
requirements of water and sewer lines.
10. A cable company was recently installing facilities along Meadowcreek. Utilities will be
invited to the preconstruction meeting to discuss utility relocations.
