the thickness of concrete paving by one (1) inch. This increase in thickness is reflected on the paving

plan legend.
2. Per the fire marshal, only a remote fire department connection is required. Water and Sanitary Sewer
General Note 16 has been removed since it discusses a fire department connection on the building
(not a remote connection).
3. A new erosion control note has been added instructing the contract to post a site notice per TPDES
General Permit TXR150000.
4. Note #6 under Paving and Striping Notes has been removed.

Re: First Baptist Church of Coppell
Resubmittal of Civil Engineering Plans
Dear Ms. Turner:
Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc. is pleased to re- submit plans on behalf of First Baptist Church of
Coppell. Included in this submittal for your review are two (2) full -size sets of the revised plans and the
redlined markup set. Explanations of how we revised the plans to your comments follow.
General Comments:
1. The landscaping and irrigation sheets have been removed from the civil set.
2. The proposed sanitary sewer lateral will require the construction of a new manhole on the existing city
main. The location of this main is near the eastern curb line of Denton Tap Road. It is likely that the
construction to connect the proposed sanitary sewer to the existing main will require a temporary lane
closure. A traffic control plan has been included in the plan set in case a lane closure is necessary.
3. Per a discussion with Ken Griffin, a note has been added on the General Notes Sheet, under General
Construction Notes, indicating that lane closures are only permitted between 9am and 3pm weekdays.

Utility Plan:
SWPPP:
1. The retaining wall along Denton Tap frontage is proposed, not existing. The height of the wall is
indicated by the abbreviations "TW" (Top of wall elevation) and "BW" (bottom of wall elevation) on
the grading plan. Per the Architect, the wall will be a Mesa Segmental Retaining Wall System, with an
off -white limestone face.
Notes have been added to the site plan stating where proposed retaining walls will be installed.
1. Note 1 has been reflected to show that all paving must meet City of Coppell Standard Construction
Details.
2. The paving plan indicates pavement striping only for crosswalks at the driveway entrances. Paver
bands are not proposed at the driveway entrances.
1. The drainage areas have been broken down so that proposed flows out of each driveway are calculated
individually. As a result, please note that the drainage area numbers have been revised. The existing
flows out of the drives are shown in notes by the drainage area map calculations.
2. There is an increase in runoff of approximately 1.49 cfs during the 100 -year storm event. The property
owner to the east is a member of the church and has been made aware that the additional paving will lead
to slightly higher runoff levels.
1. A profile of the proposed sanitary sewer line has been provided. As mentioned above in "General
Comments #2 the location of the service has been revised. Recently it was determined that no
existing sanitary sewer manholes are present in Denton Tap Road adjacent to the church frontage. A
new manhole is proposed to be installed on top of the existing sanitary sewer, with connections made
for the existing 8 -inch line through the manhole, and a connection for the proposed 6 -inch service from
the addition. We have added a traffic control plan sheet should this construction require the closure of
one lane of Denton Tap Road.
1. A note has been added on the General Notes Sheet, under Erosion Control Notes, #20, stating that a
construction site notice must be posted. A new Erosion Control Site Map Sheet has been added to the plan
sheet to more thoroughly address the requirements under the TXR- 150000 Permit.
