The contractor would prefer to use 3,O00psi, 7" deep concrete for both the parking areas and fire lanes, as allowed by the Subdivision Ordinance, rather than 6" deep concrete over time stabilized subgrade. The City allows 3,000 psi concrete with a 7" depth at fire lanes and 6" deep concrete at the parking areas or 4,000 psi concrete with a 6" depth at the fire lanes and a 5" depth at the parking areas. This is in lieu of lime stabilization, 3,000 psi concrete with 6" deep concrete at the fire lanes and 5" deep at the parking areas. The City Engineering Dept. requires a formal letter from the civil engineer of record making this request. Please have the civil engineer make this written request as soon as possible. We propose to use 3,000 psi. T' deep concrete for both the parking areas and fin: lanes. A fax request is okay and please copy me.
