I am a resident of the Woodridge neighborhood in Coppell, Texas. I am writing this letter in regards to the possibility of upgrading the power poles along Sandy Lake Road in Coppell. As you know, this issue is of great concern to myself as well as the citizens of Coppell. Sandy Lake Road is a major artery through many neighborhoods in Coppell. When the Sandy Lake expansion is completed, Coppell will have a modern and efficient roadway that will enhance the city for years to come. In my opinion, the A majority of Sandy Lake Road is new power poles should not be erected along Sandy Lake Road. bordered by residential neighborhoods. When the easement was acquired 50 years ago, Sandy Lake was bordered by farms and pasture land. Today, Sandy Lake runs down the center of a high density community. What was a right decision 50 years ago is not a good choice for today. The PUC has very strict guidelines when considering placement of new power lines through an area. Guidelines such as lines no closer than 200 feet from homes and 1000 feet from schools. It seems strange that the same guidelines do not apply when considering upgraded lines in a high density community. The power poles on the south side of Sandy Lake will run within 70 feet of hundreds of homes. I am very concerned about the possible health concerns and loss of property value of those homes. Please give this matter the same consideration you would if these where new lines going into a new area. I understand there are existing lines that were there when the homes were bought. But these are wooden The proposed upgrade power poll works well in industrial and poles that look no different than most residential telephone poles. Please consider this matter as a situation that needs to be corrected now to benefit all of us in the future. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. Regards,
