CIVIL ENGINEERS 5225 Village Creek Drive Suite 200 nano, Texas 75093 972.931-0694 972.931.9538 faz August 5, 2003 Ms. Teresa Turner City of Coppell, Texas 255 Parkway Blvd. P.O. Box 9478 Coppell, Texas 75019 RE: The Mercantile, Phase One Paving Section DAA Job No. 02063 Dear Ms. Turner: On behalf of our client Turner-Gesek Investments, Inc., we respectfully request an amendment to the typical six (6) inch paving section for The Mercantile, Phase One project. In speaking with this project's geotechnical engineer, David Hooper from Hooper Group, Inc., we cannot eliminate the lime stabilization requirement under the six (6) inch paving section. I believe we can, however, change the strength of the concrete from four thousand (4000) psi to three thousand (3000) psi and maintain a strong section. I have included a typical detail on page two of this letter to clarify. If in your professional opinion this is a change that the City of Coppell will accept, I will notify the contractor in the field and make the necessary changes to the Construction Plans upon a letter of you approval. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Please do not hesitate to call me should you have any questions regarding this request. Sincerely, Timothy J. Porter, P.E.
