Dear Mr. Griffin:
We were recently contacted by Mr. Mike Martin of your office to provide a cost for engineering
services to separate the Denton Tap Road project plans into two separate projects. The division
separation for the two plans is the S.H. 121 Bypass. The City of Lewisville currently has Denton
Tap Road north of S.H. 121 under contract and in construction. TxDOT has the S.H. 121 Bypass
under construction. The contractor performing the City of Lewisville project may agree to add the
work north of the S.H. 121 Bypass at the same unit costs. Completing the portion of the roadway
north of the S.H. 121 Bypass will provide numerous benefits to traffic movement in the area.
We anticipate the design fee to address the separation of the plans into two projects to be
$12,000 which would include providing a mylar set of plan originals and a proposal structured
after the Lewisville contract pay items.
This letter proposal can become an amendment to the existing Engineering Services Contract
(signed by the Mayor on January 16, 1995) upon signature of the approval blank provided below.

Attached is a letter proposal for an addendum to the existing Engineering Services
Contract for the additional services we estimate to revise the construction plans into two
plan sets.
We are not clear on the amount of effort to address grading, landscaping and
temporary control of access. The cost could be less depending on the items of work we
will actually be required to perform. We can do this work at hourly reimbursable rates
not to exceed $12,000.00 if you prefer,. I know the effort will be more than one would
expect.
