NOTE: FOLLOW-UP NOTES FROM THE MEETING ARE IN RED AND ITALICS.
ATTENDANCE:
Ken Griffin, P.E., Dir. of Engineering & Public Works - City of Coppell

Matt Atkins, E.I.T. - TNP Dallas Office
I. Existing Fire Hydrants in Median
a. Remove all?
b. Relocate?
c. To which side of road?
d. New Valves?
We will relocate newer hydrants. Old hydrants will be removed and returned to the
City. We will stub out 8-inch lines from the existing 10-inch line to undeveloped
properties on North side of road. The City will confirm whether new valves will be
added to leads that are extended to parkway areas.
II. Minimum Cover Over Water Line
a. 24-inch
b. 12-inch/10-inch
c. Under Pavement
d. Non-Paved Areas (median)
The minimum cover shall be 42-inches. In special cases, 36-inches may be
considered. TNP will send draft plan/profile plots to city next week showing
relationship between existing water lines and proposed finished grade.
III. Tornado Siren
It belongs to the City and will be relocated by our contractor. The likely new
location will be northwest corner of Sandy Lake and Coppell Road North adjacent
to the Brazos Electric facility. The City will confirm with the fire department that this
location will be acceptable.

IV. Detention for Undeveloped Properties
Detention for undeveloped properties will not be required.
V. Trail Along Church Property
The City will approach the Church about granting a 10-foot sidewalk and utility
easement to permit the trail to meander and not overlap proposed curb inlets. TNP
will prepare the documents.
VI. Fire Department Approval of Traffic Control Plan
Coordination with the fire department will be handled in-house by the City. TNP
shall prepare a letter to Mr. Griffin advising him as to how long Coppell Road North
would be completely closed to all traffic if Contactor was permitted to close the
road to construct new improvements. We will likely specify high early strength
concrete and try to schedule this work during the summer months.
VII. Contractor Issues - The City will provide TNP current specs that cover many of the
issues listed below.
a. Construction Water - Contractor's expense. He will need to obtain a
construction meter from the City and pay for water.
b. Staking - Contractor's expense. We will provide control points only.
c. SWPPP - Contractor's expense and responsibility to prepare and maintain.
d. Batch Plant - Contractor will be responsible for all state permits. If the plant will
be in place for more than 90 days, an SUP is required. Mr. Griffin will handle
obtaining the SUP on Contractor's behalf
e. Testing - The lab will be hired by the City and the City will control all testing
activities.
f. Pre-Bid Conference - Will not be mandatory, but strongly encouraged.
VIII. Next Meeting
